For decades, the Aguirre family of Finca El Injerto have pushed the boundaries of quality, innovation, and sustainable farming practices in the coffee world.
The Aguirre family’s dedication to sustainable farming really comes through in the cup—it feels like a thoughtful, meticulous batch from start to finish. Brewing it on my V60 gave a clean, balanced body that lingered nicely, and I’ve already reordered.
The Bourbon varietal is a nice change of pace from the typical Caturra I usually brew, and you can tell the Aguirres’ long-term focus pays off in the cup. Only took off a star because the beans arrived a bit darker than my usual preference, though the flavor still held up well.
The family’s sustainable farming is a nice touch, but the bourbon variety itself didn’t wow me — it’s a clean, balanced cup, just not as exciting as I hoped for the price.
